A TOTAL of 25,127 representing 10.98% of the 228,917 examinees passed the Career Service examinations conducted nationwide on Aug. 6, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) disclosed.
Adrian Callangan from Region II (Cagayan Valley), with a rating of 90.87, bested 196,819 examinees of the Career Service Professional test while Mark Dave Balmilero, with an 87.54 rating and who also hailed from Region II, placed first among the 32,098 hopefuls for the SubProfessional level. The Professional test posted 11.07% passing rate while the SubProfessional test had 10.39%, respectively comprising 21,792 and 3,335 successful passers.
For the Professional level, top passers also include: Merynel Gratuito (Bicol region) – 90.27; Carlos Rafael Andres (Southern Tagalog) – 90.18; Marlon Marvilla (Central Luzon) – 89.97; Melvin Alas-as (Southern Tagalog) – 89.88; Orpah Leah De Guzman (NCR) – 89.77; Marc Karlo Sales (Southern Tagalog) – 89.48; Florette Hanh Albis (NCR) – 89.47; Denmirson Vivo (NCR) – 89.41; and Justin Callo (Zamboanga Peninsula) – 89.38. For the SubProfessional level, completing the list of top passers are: Jodi Jill Manikan (Western Visayas) – 87.38; Francis Rey Cabarubias (Central Visayas) – 87.12; Aldmyr Afundar (Bicol region) – 87.04; Psalm Zion Lumabao (NCR) – 86.84; Zeidrick-J Cudilla (Western Visayas) – 86.78; Geovani Duqueza (Southern Tagalog) – 86.46; Patricia
Mae Remante (Southern Tagalog) – 86.46; Keizel Lorein Bonifacio (Southern Tagalog) – 86.44; Christine Joy Arce (NCR) – 86.38.
In terms of regional performance, NCR posted the highest passing rate at 16.30 per cent, covering both levels of examination, which is translated into 6,264 total passers out of 38,419 total examinees. For its part, despite not having any spot in the lists of top passers, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) came in second to NCR with a 15.88 per cent passing rate. Other top performing regions of the country include Central Luzon with 12.42 per cent passing rate, Southern Tagalog – 11.66 per cent, and Cagayan Valley – 11.31 per cent.
Going by the level, the passing rate for the Professional level at NCR is 16.84%, CAR (16.55%), Central Luzon (12.60%), Cagayan Valley (11.74%), and Southern Tagalog (11.73%); for the SubProfessional level: NCR (13.52%), CAR (12.49%), Central Luzon (11.44%), Southern Tagalog (11.30%), and Bicol region (11.08%).
Callangan, together with the rest of passers of Professional level shall be conferred the Civil Service Professional Eligibility, the eligibility needed and appropriate for appointment to both first level (clerical) and second level (technical) positions in the government, including executive/managerial positions in the second level. On the other hand, the SubProfessional level passers led by Balmilero shall obtain the Civil Service SubProfessional Eligibility appropriate only for first level positions in the government.
The CSC said Professional and SubProfessional eligibles may be appointed to appropriate positions in the government that do not involve practice of profession and are not covered by special laws, provided they also meet the education, experience, training, and other requirements of the positions.
How to get test results
The complete list of successful examinees of the Aug. 6, 2017 Career Service Professional and SubProfessional examinations may be accessed at the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph.
The CSC said Certifications of Eligibility are expected to be available by Oct. 17, 2017. Passers are advised to verify first with the CSC Regional/Field Office concerned the availability of and the requirements and procedure in claiming their Certification of Eligibility. Meanwhile, examinees, both passed and failed, may generate their individual rating through OCSERGS or Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System, which
can also be accessed via the CSC website, by Oct. 1, 2017.
The CSC warns the public against any postings in any other websites or social media links that are not affiliated with, or are engaged in the unauthorized use of the name of, the Commission.
